Many moons ago I use to go to a Castle and stay for a retreat with a holy SVD priest. I would not have seen him for one year maybe and I drove the 4 hours to get to the Castle.
At the first session with him I would pour out my soul to him until my heavy heart was empty.
He would sit there listening and after I finished we would both be silent. Me because I had nothing more to say and he because he allowed the Holy Spirit to sift through all that was poured out to find the Word God wanted to say.
After as long as it took
He said:
It was the stone rejected by the builders that became the keystone.
We are all, you and I, on the way to heaven please God. Everything that happens to us we sometimes wish did not happen and yet it is precisely that which brings us to our goal, heaven and God.
